My year in grade 5

Grade five was a real adventure for me because I  got to know people better. I got to look back at my past to see how much I  have grown from education to Responsibilities to friendships. At the start I feel't fifth  grade was a another chapter very scared to start but that fear has out grown me fifth grade is like a pod of dolphins all together in everything on the same pages in math, writing,  science and even social studies. But at the end we are all different people getting to know each other better and better each day. These responsibilities did not just help me as a person but as a learner. Each day my brain gets bigger and bigger learning something new from the library to my class to guidance to art  and even music. Fifth grade has provided me many things to prepare for a new whole different book and to begin a whole different chapter .fifth grade is a big role and being a fifth grader is a big role. So if anyone wants to ask me how my year has gown it has gone it has gone very well and not only because I am taller then my mom now but because I am finally done with my adventure..... Elementary school .




                                                  Reading

 I really enjoyed  read aloud's in reading this year I thought it was better then reading to myself so I could also jot while the read aloud is still going on because I love the story's in read aloud because there is always a way to get sad without stoping the book and ruining the moment or even to be excited without loosing you're page in the book.  But As a reader I think I have improved a lot as a reader I remember the first time I read it got very hard for me getting better in baby steps reading a book got easier and easier I have learned practice makes better. My reading map test  has also got better then the beginning of the year. Reading is very fun for me.   


                                                    Writing 

In writing I enjoyed the unit poetry and also writing fantasy story's  I thought it was exciting making story's and writing poetry by rhyming because I love writing poetry and making story's full of things that don't exist.I love writing units this year. 
                                                     

                                                       Math
This was my fifth year doing Eureka math.I thought math was very easy and having to do it step by step helped me a  lot visualize it without doing it all in one day and start and whole different day because visualize it without doing it all in one day and start and whole different day. I enjoyed adding fractions with a whole number I thought simplifying was a challenge for me because I did not really got how too. I know I am really good at adding fractions with a whole number. And I know i need more practice on calculation so I don't make a small error. 



                                                      Science

I thought science was ok because there was some confusing classes. I enjoyed doing Biomes and Adaptations.  I liked the big projects we would do in science and being creative is really fun.


                                                    
                                                  
                                                    Social Studies 

I thought social studies was fun because the columbian exchange   because it was really exciting.I enjoyed watching how the our past life was much different. Because it would show the life of the Aztecs. I thought it was really fun as a unit and i would reflect on it in middle school probably.



                                           
                                              Citizenship - Core Values 
This was my fourth year learning about the year the core values. I think it was very important I think the core values have a big role at CAC.   







                                                      Most challenging

In grade five I think most challenging thing we did of all was the tests because if you forgot something you will do bad at that section witch is mostly math. it is really hard to try to get a good score if you goof of and talk in class.   









                                                           most enjoyable
In grade five I think most enjoyable thing we did of all was kids day because if you would get wet and have fun with friends and run and jump. My favorite activity was the sponge fight because you get extra wet.








                                                             Most proud of 
This year I am proud of my independence because I have grown from the beginning  of the year.








                                                       When I think  about Middle school 

I see a big school and me as a unique person waiting for an adventure but I  know I must try hard.

How is science  and technology changing the world... past, present and future

My Thoughts So Far


I think science  and technology is helping the world but also taking over the world. Lots of children are sucking there heads in video games and in there electronics  in the feature will these problem get worst and worst? I also think science  and technology is helping us we already made advancements for illnesses we can maybe even in the future find a cure for cancer. Also for transportation in different countries they are trying to make cars with no one driving. In my opinion the world has changed from the past to the present to the future and I think in the future science  and technology will change the world. who knows maybe we will be living with robots?     

Over all

I think this unit was a very good unit because we got to go to a field trip that does not involve Egypt  culture  and because I learned something that is sort of new and if I knew the fact there would be another fact that is new i learned how the earths surface looks the way it does?  what I learned to answer the answer of this question the answer is the earths surface looks the way it does is because it has gone threw so many erosions and so many things happened to the earth and that is how the earths surface look the way it does i really like this unit

A volcanologist is a scientist is one of the scientist that study the earth not the earth but something from the earth witch you can see from the name it  is volcanoes. volcanologist  go to volcanos or some might not go to volcanoes and study them and see if they might erupt again.

earthquakes, landslides, floods, and volcanic eruptions they study them .

Wadi Degla Reflection

The Wadi Degla  is in Maadi. Monday march 19 2018. 5G. Science. Doctor Bill the geologist said the different rocks.I wonder what other animals use to live in the degla I think there are new fossils still being found I saw lots mountains  and rocks.The hike was tiring and dangerous  but worth the view.Overall this was very tiring but this was really fun and also risky too but this was one of the best field trip I have ever went to.          

Standard Stream Erosion

Q:
My hypothesis was that the sand/clay would all go on the table and create a mini flood.
The equipment we used was a stream table and sand/clay,water and  measuring cup and a ruler.The procedure was the sand/clay were on a side of the stream table so we put 3 cups of water and then we watched as the erosion happen. What intercede me was how it made the basin drainage and how the water went threw the whole and into the bucket.This experiment was very interesting and and it was a lot of fun.        

Why does our Earth's surface look the way it does?

I think Why does our Earth's surface look the way it does is because there are so many formations such as mountains volcanos canyons and many more and all of them are different  sizes and different lengths and widths   causing our world to look like this 

Virtual Reality Experience

What I saw in through my experience of virtual reality goggles was people and the view of
 Victoria falls and the fall and there were rocks and the sand. I wondered is it safe in  Victoria falls? because it is a beautiful view and there is lots of rocks and sand any animal could be hiding anywhere?I feel't in this experience that the sand was blowing in my face even thought it was just the sound I could feel people talking I could feel the falls splashing on me. In total I think this was a great experience.

Talia the Scientist

Talia is a very interesting and fascinating as scientist she has many experiences with science lets see a few things about her   about her  a  Talia the  scientist favorite topic in Science  is reflection  because you get to do so many experiments with that topic and she loves experiment.Talia's favorite unit this year in science is biomes something Talia  would like to learn about is chemicals.If Talia were a scientist she would pick the job of making experiments because Talia loves making experiments.What helps Talia in science class is taking notes in her head. But what Talia needs in science class needs to work on is remembering facts.Talia thinks learning science is important because it is important in the world and it is not just for fun it is also many ways how we live . Scientist invent things for us in life an example is the refrigerator it keep our foods cool  like ice cream if the ice  cream was outside it would have melted but if it were in the refrigerator then it would not melt.Talia loves experiments because she thinks it is fun and she likes fun adventures.Talia does not like conducting research because she forgets stuff easily.This is Talia as a scientist .
